In a curious natural adaptation, the pale green afterimage moth has taken on the complementary color of its flowery habitat (shown above). A predator's eyes have trouble distinguishing between the moth and afterimages of the deep pink blossoms, which have a brightness nearly luminescent in the late afternoon sunlight.
